In the health examination conducted among 450 people suffering from fever in Godavari municipality, 132 people were found to be infected with dengue. According to Lal Bahadur Thapa, Chief Public Health Officer of Godavari Municipality, there are more dengue infections in Ward No. 3, 11, 12, and 14 of the municipality. Various activities have been adopted for control.
He said that the Red Cross, people's representatives, ward health posts, women's health volunteers, schools and intellectuals are distributing leaflets to homes, offices, industrial schools etc., cleaning the water bodies and also doing public awareness programs through the media.
It is said that even though dengue infections are low in the municipality, vigilance has been called, and sufficient medicines including paracetamol have been arranged. It is reported that the number of deaths due to dengue infection in Nepal reached 44 out of 33 thousand 975.
