The United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, has postponed his planned visit to Nepal, citing the ongoing conflict in the Middle East between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
Guterres was scheduled to arrive in Nepal on October 13, but his visit has been deferred until further notice, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Guterres was invited to Nepal by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal during Daha’s visit to New York in September. During his planned three-day visit, Guterres was scheduled to address the Federal Parliament of Nepal and visit Lumbini and Pokhara.
